I did a research paper on this subject in college and found out that it was originally passed because police, firemen, etc were advocating that it was difficult for first responders to be able to break a window in an emergency to get the occupant to safety.

Has nothing to do with officer safety. All you gotta do if you have tint it roll your windows down as soon as you get pulled over and keep your hands where they can see them.

Yep

And most people know a guy for inspection, so that part is easy as well. My current tint guy claims if you take it to inspection with the front windows down and just tell them the windows are broken and can't roll up, it's illegal for the inspection company to do anything, and you can still get your inspection. But obviously it's way easier to just know a guy.

The tint laws suck though.
Police have limo tint (5%vlt) on their cars.
I just want 20-25%. You can see into it.

I think the tint laws are pure bullshite.

So lighter (legal) tint makes a window harder to break than darker tint?

This is why I turn my lights on and roll down my windows before he gets out his car.

Why is it illegal for cars to have front windows tinted to match the back windows? I have it done on my truck anyway because it makes the windows uniform and looks much better

So...does darker tint hold the glass together more so than lighter tint?

Yeah I don't buy that explanation. Tint isn't illegal, just darker than 30%vlt
Also many cars have that film.
Next anyone, whose had tint and their radio stolen knows it's pure bullshite. The tint at least makes the glass easier to clean up.

Kinda, but how dark it is doesn't matter. Plus, it's easy to break window glass regardless with or without tint.

Black 2019 Maserati with tint? Classy & life goals

I understand this may be a hard concept for you to grasp because you are a fricking idiot.

Just roll your windows down at the inspection. Those hourlies don't really care enough to roll them up.

They legally can't roll them up...at least that's what my tint guy tells me.

It has more tint mass so the cohesion of the tint molecules = greater glass tension strenf.

That's just science.
