re: Where does Halloween rank on your holiday list?

I only like it because my gf is in charge of the effort. I don't want to spend any time thinking about costumes or decorating shite.

Kinda meh. Maybe it'll be a new perspective for me now that we have a kid.

Going to Boo at the Zoo this Sunday. Heading to Santa Cruz on the 30th so no actual Trick or Treating.

Before children #1

With children #4

1) Christmas (Not remotely close)

2) Thanksgiving

3) Easter

4) 4th of July

5) Halloween (Used to be #2 during undergrad)

It's pretty high up there. It's the beginning of the good holiday season. You know, the ones that are actually fun, enjoyable, and people give a shite about. It marks the beginning of the good time of year. Good Friday/Mardi Gras (depending on which one you get off) marks the end of the good, enjoyable holidays.

Memorial Day has to be just about the worst holiday. "Here's a day off. Enjoy it inside because it's hot as balls out there, it's going to be hot as balls for the next 5 or 6 months, and the holidays all suck because you're gonna be inside for those, too. By the way, this holiday is all about dead soldiers and sailors, so let's be somber. Also, while we're at it, why don't you go ahead and start worrying about hurricanes." Memorial Day is the OweO of holidays. For similar reasons, Labor Day sucks, but there's only 2 months more of ballsweat weather and it's the last shite holiday, so it sucks less than Memorial Day.

I love Halloween

Pretty low. I Don't have kids, and fricking hate dressing up in costume myself. People that get super excited for this holiday that don't have kids definitely loose a few points in my book.
