Either front pocket, never back. Always glass side facing my thigh and always the pocket opposite my keys.

front right pocket when not in the field. In belt clip holster when in the field. Wallet in front left pocket or in console when driving. Keys are clipped to belt loop when out of the office or have to be left in the truck when onsite.

I keep it on vibrate in a very special place. Then I use a second cell to call it over and over. Safer than sex and no STDs to worry about.

You carry it in your back pocket when up and moving around.
When you get in your car, to your desk, or sit down somewhere you transfer the phone to a table or the center console.
ETA: I only carry in my back pocket when wearing jeans, with shorts I carry in front and with slacks I carry in my jacket pocket.
