In the same sentence you literally associated projection with certain. That's what they do. They make PROJECTIONS. You are the one putting words in their mouth by claiming they were "so certain".

I know enough to know atmospheric thermodynamics is beyond my skill set, but feel free to express your thesis in as detailed physics or engineering terms as you wish.

Here’s a question for you then, DaVinci. Why even make the predictions at all? What purpose does it serve? Anyone surprised by a hurricane is a fool.
Louisiana averages 27 tornadoes a year. If the experts predict 40, would you wear a helmet and flack jacket every day? If the experts predicted 10, would you pull the trigger on that new single-wide you have been debating?
If you’re half the scientist that you say you are, then you, above others, should understand the absolute voodoo baked into these projections.
