Upper Michigan does rock. Spent time there as a child, I wanted my dad to move there so bad.

For a few months a year at least.

I don't do winters very well.

that is good to hear. My SO is from Hayward Wisconsin and we live in a suburb of MSP called New Brighton. I wish there were more Tigers here. I am hoping to find some. It looks like the alumni group is defunct. We should put together a TD fest up here in the summer somewhere.

They are bad in Minnesota; but not that bad. Most of the people who complain about them are from dryer parts of the midwest or from larger cities where they aren't that big of a problem.

The upper gulf coast has it much worse.

You mean city/county/state/federal governments give up full power they have due to this pandemic? Lolz

Illinois has been ruled by executive order since early March 2020, with Gov. J.B. Pritzker reissuing statewide COVID-19 disaster proclamations every 30 days. On Aug. 20 he declared Illinois a disaster for the 20th time.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Aug. 20 issued his 20th statewide COVID-19 disaster proclamation, meaning by the end of this new proclamation he will have declared Illinois to be in a state of disaster for 559 consecutive days.

And I think it's still going, which would put us over 600 days straight.

The one thing I agree with.

Dear lord Absolutely, MN has 10,000 lakes, the lakers are originally from Minnesota hence the name. Anyone that says otherwise is full of shvt. If you drive on the interstate at night up there, it’s going to look like it’s raining with your lights on but it’s really the mosquitoes and your vehicle will be completely caked over with mosquito guts every night.

Mosquitos are absolutely, without a doubt worse in the upper Midwest than the gulf coast

Last time I was up there in the woods driving at dusk it sounded like it was sprinkling from the sound of mosquitoes hitting my car.

I visited my sister in Minnesota years ago. Had to abandon a golf game about five holes in because the mosquitoes were unbearable. A beautiful summer day, swarms of them everywhere on the course. Much worse than anything I've encountered in southern states.

Montana, Wyoming and those western states are beautiful, but goddamn the winters are a bitch.

The dry air makes it easier, it’s not as harsh as a mid westerner winter.

I've experienced terrible mosquitoes in a lot of places, including Montana and Alaska.

Fortunately we rarely get them in Knoxville, but the flies can be fricking annoying.

Traffic is not bad. Wtf.

5pm on the Pkwy, yeah, it’s not ideal but to cite traffic issues is BS.

I use the west side and 249 for my commute. It’s fine especially with 2978 completed.

Contrived? Ok

My FIL lives in Boulder, WY. The wife and I are thinking of moving around there. Nothing near Jackson though. Holy shite.

Columbus GA is more rednecky,,.but it's better.

Columbus isn’t the worst place in the world (good employment options for a city of its size, downtown has been revitalized) but it’s never been nice and the violent crime has gotten pretty bad…

RE : Daphne, the architecture is generally stultifying (residential and commercial). In addition its walkability is subpar at best. would steer away, but there is a rump for every roost.
