Pfffft - in Europe many don’t know what Baton Rouge is (to tell you the truth, neither do I) - so I just say New Orleans - they know that - and I’m not technically lying since I grew up there

Currently live in Shreveport...I used to tell people I'm from Louisiana....originally from New Orleans...but somehow that's MORE embarrassing now

Yep same here. I tell 'em in BR, My Mayor is a lady and has a Hyphenated 2 part Last Name, just like Atlanta's mayor's or any other big city.

When I lived in New Orleans I would tell them my New Orleans neighborhood and add it wasn’t one of the many bad parts.
