Everything going on is so bad. Until you read these. My father gave me these scrapbooks when I turned 21

What? Telling him he failed at posting the pics the first 3 times? He even agreed

In all seriousness, the stuff is cool and something you'll look fondly over for the rest of your life. Don't lose em.

Those are really great. I watched the nightly reports on tv, but for some reason your pictures make it seem much more "personal."

I cant imagine the fear there was creeping through that jungle, just trying to stay alive so you can go home again. When you think about it, most of these guys were kids!

My pops was there did 2 tours with the 173d Airborne. Lucky to be alive from the stories he's told. He's writing a memoir.

It took him a long time to be able to talk about some of the shite. Now I think it's therapeutic.

Man just soak this in. My grandfather served in Europe in WWII. Just before he died my dad was over and he just started talking about the war. It was the most dad had ever heard about it and he's so glad he got to hear it.

Last night at a business dinner in a restaurant here in Nashville, the 4 of us were fortunate to have a 92 yr. old WWII vet come in and dine at the table next to us. He's wearing his vet ball cap and he's with his daughter (legit OT 7.5-8). We wanted to pay for their meal but someone had beat us, so we offered him a fine dessert cordial (he chose 18 yr Glenlivet and later after he learned it was us getting it for him jokingly said he should've got the Louis the 13th ) and was treated to 45 mins of conversation with him. Okinowa, Guam, Tokyo. Wow! A wonderful soul with so much life led and more to come. It was a great, great moment in our blessed lives to hear him speak and to honor his service with the little we did. These guys are special.

Eta: I apologize. I forgot to even thank you for posting your pictures here which are really cool! You should be honored! Thanks for bringing this out this morning.

I haven't hear more than two sentences. I pressed once and regretted that immediately. Thanks for sharing.

One "funny" part. My dad and two of his brothers served in Vietnam at the same time. Black government vehicle shows up - grandmother expects worse. They gave her an award for giving the government three sons. She allegedly beat the guy back to his car.
