I just don't see how someone can have their eyes off the road that long. Even texting. I never text and drive, but I'll read an email subject, or type a name into my address book to make a call. It takes me 30 seconds to type one word because I'm afraid to take my eyes off the road for more than a quick second. I know that's still dangerous and I need to stop, but I can't imagine how I'd ever miss an entire logging truck stopped on a road.

Yeah it's dangerous as frick but many many people still do it... If I know someone is driving I always text them to just text me when they make it home, be safe, and dknr text on the road.

I have a younger cousin who weeks for sonic in the landmass.

Prayers for the family.

My car has Apple CarPlay, its like an Ipad in your dash that syncs with your phone, and I swear using that is more distracting than just dicking around on your phone while driving. I mostly just use Siri to tell it what to do so its not bad but when you are actually using it and scrolling around its bad because you have to look down and to your right but on your phone you can hold it higher and right in front of you.

A guy in a car next to me was texting and swerving all over the place. I look over and say and motion to put that fricking phone down. Guy looks at me and says WHAT? I repeated it. Little did I know he was some law enforcement so he turns on his siren in his car and motions for me to pull over. I do then he comes up to my car all huffed saying DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ROAD RAGE? I said yes I do but you were texting swerving all over the place and I wasn't interested in getting hit. He eventually calmed down and knew he was wrong. But I guess he was also right that I might get into some shite from a crazy person by doing that.

I drive the interstate from BR to N Shore and back everyday. I see this shite every time. I also see many other examples of stupid also. It's amazing how some people get the right to drive.

That's what I do. At my last job my work phone automatically locked when it sensed that it was in a moving vehicle.

People need to stop watching the news. They'd be healthier for it.

It's pretty much there to scare the shite out of you.

Nah I need to send emails, check FB and Tigerdroppings while I am driving. Once or twice a well ill just jam music but normally I am on my phone from the time I leave the office until I get home but my ride has lane departure warnings, it beeps on the side I am weaving towards, and also forward collision alert that has both audio and a visual alert so I am good.

I've always yelled at friends and family for texting and driving and I don't care if I have to be rude as shite to get them to stop. It's not worth typing out that lol or on my way.

This thread is giving me anxiety. That's like my nightmare. I will never drive behind log trucks. When I'm on a two way road and stuck behind one I pull over for a bit and let cars pass.

A few years back before all the "no text and drive" campaigns started, I would use my perreffrial to drive while staring at my phone. Sometimes I would stop at a red light and look up and think.. Holy shite I just went 3 miles and don't remember any of it. It's scary how little I used common sense!

I always used to give them a couple hundred feet. Had a head-on with a loaded log truck on a single track logging road a few years ago. He locked it up, and his trailer went sideways on the road. I turned it into a crevasse, but stopped about 15ft down. Last time I rode with my CB off

Back when Don Draper and everyone else drove drunk all the time, I rarely saw someone driving in a way where I thought, "That a-hole is drunk."

Now I see it daily on the way to work. Folks weaving in and out of lanes, running on the shoulder, missing traffic lights, etc. They aren't drunk, just texting.

Sad thing is that one of those texting frickers will hit someone who is sitting at a light doing fine, but had a couple drinks at dinner. Guess who goes to jail and is branded a criminal menace to society?

Been saying for years I'm more afraid of texting drivers than terrorists. Several times I've had to hit the shoulder to avoid them swerving in my lane.
