re: When will hospitals stop being so anal about covid?

My mom recently tested positive right before a hip surgery and so it was moved. But, they will proceed if she tests positive again. I feel like they are still winging it.

I think this is the biggest part of it. COVID became so political that to admit it’s no longer a big deal is like admitting that they’re the “bad guys.” They can’t do it because their entire world view became intertwined with standing with Ukraine, or staying home and saving lives, or being an ally. Most of it is fake posturing and everyone knows it, but everyone repeats the lie out of fear of ostracism. It’s very Soviet.

It’s the exact same with abortion. I was having a reasonable, chill conversation with a buddy from Louisiana who now lives in Portland about the recent decision. I said I don’t know exactly where the line is, but surely there’s a time in the development of a fetus when we shouldn’t be aborting babies. He told me that was just my Christian bias skewing my view of right and wrong. It’s no ability to bend from the modern party line.

We’re a weird internal Cold War. The scary part is that, like in the Cold War, reaching out with an olive branch to the people in charge only seems to embolden them. They don’t care to be friends. They think the majority view is evil. How do you mend the fence when you reach out your hand and the other side spits on it?

It’s because your dad is an “airborne isolation” patient. They do this with other infections as well and always have. It’s not strictly a COVID thing.

I can honestly say I haven't even been remotely sick since long before COVID became a thing.

Just the occasional sinus blockage that doesn't last long, no fevers, aches, flu-like symptoms, etc.

I do suffer from bouts with kidney stones, but that is unrelated.

I got it two weeks ago, and had a abscess tooth at the same time. Didn't notice the Covid, but tested positive. No real symptoms that I could tell

I have Leukemia, you'd think without an immune system it would hit harder. That shite is weak.

Is this the part where you try to argue gowns, masks, and gloves while visiting someone hospitalized with the flu was the norm prior to covid? Please say it is.
