Have some extremely rich neighbors who both wash and hang dry their clothes to help the planet.
No kids of course. Which is typical of that Ilk.

We did pretty often until [ironically] Helene blew down the tree it was connected to. We could stand on our deck and load and unload it. Pulley system. I say ironically bc we were without power for 11 days after Helene so would have been nice.
Clothes smell great with that sweet mountain dew, wind and sunshine.

I have one inside in my laundry room for things that shouldn't go in the dryer.

I don’t care about trying to “help the planet”, but air drying is much better for your clothes. Much less wear and tear than subjecting them to a dryer all the time.

My mom. Which meant we had clothes take down duty.
We had a washer, no dryer until I was around 13

I would use one if I had it. I never put certain clothing items in the dryer. (Which is most of my day to day clothing actually). So I have a dry rack inside.

Same here unless it is raining or during the winter.

Wife has one in the laundry room that she uses for things she doesn’t want to put in the dryer.

Today. Wife uses Downy heavily. Smells like heaven when I put a shirt on!

My in laws still do. They don't dry ANYTHING. I don't even know why they have a dryer. If their utility bill is over $100, my father in law has a shite fit and the dude makes well over 6 figures. They also keep the AC on 78

My family in Central America does every time they do laundry. Electricity is ~4x in cost compared to the states.

Funny thing
On our senior trip we took everyone’s towels (that we could reach) that were hanging on the balcony to dry. I forgot what we did with them.
We needed our asses beat.
