$50 a month! You can go to the Oklahoma territory and they’ll let you have an acre for free if you stay alive for 1 year.

Inflation is a product of people willing to pay more. Nobody to blame but the general population. Don’t like the price, don’t buy it. Plain and simple.

That’s probably a 900sf house.
I would live in it, the problem where I live is the damn lot would cost $225k

Starter homes used to be starter homes, as well. Nowadays everyone wants what would have been considered a luxury home in years past for starter home prices. People have unrealistic expectations. Used to be you started small and simple, with the finances to match, and as you progressed in your life and career, you also upgraded your house if desired. Now people want the progresses amenities from the beginning and it puts a huge strain on finances.

House near us in Houston 950 SF sold for $455k.

Yep. Now we call them tiny homes and they are even looked at as needing to be luxurious.
