I buy my tires from the local Ford dealership. They can get anything I want, the tire shops only carry one premium brand. Continental for my BMW, Pirelli for the Volvo.

Sams will also fix flats for free whether you bought the tire there or not

This is extremely important if you are looking for a camper/5th wheel. Those tires are "supposed" to only last 5 years from date of manufacture.

A few years back I bought a 1980 Porsche 911 that was advertised to have 88,000 original miles on it. I was skeptical, but did notice that the tires had plenty of tread on them and after checking the serial number as you pointed out, saw that they were manufactured in 1990. I changed the tires but took photos of them on the car in case I ever want to sell the car and prove to someone that the mileage is indeed that low.
