Red Lobster didn't get into the Baton Rouge market until a few years ago. You sure you weren't talking about the one in New Orleans?

I believe there was a previous restaurant in Baton Rouge two or so decades ago. And like the previous poster said, there was a muder there that drove away business.

I'm 41 but don't remember any other one in BR.

I don't think the Mall of LA location will last. I drive by it every day and it never looks crowded

It’s crowded on Sundays after church. Or at least it used to be.

They usually have a 8-10 year life before running everyone off

Did free Cheddar Bay biscuits ruin this once fine establishment?

That is the only thing worth a damn in those restaurants. The food is overpriced and not very impressive.

It’s been quite a few years but I’ve got far better options now in my area.

he first red lobster in BR opened on Airline and Florida Blvd around 1980. 1981 guy who works there kills the manager and a bunch of other staff in a robbery. After closing. Place supposedly was a blood bath. Chased em around the place and killed them in a bunch of different areas of the place.

I'm pretty sure you have your restaurants mixed up. That exact scenario happened at the Calendars on Perkins near Essen. It's been a few different things since then but it was still Calendars for 15 years or so afterward.

I worked in restaurants for a long time in BR and that story was well known, but it was definitely Calendars. Maybe something like that happened at the RL by Cortana too, but I sure don't remember the incident.

No I remember the Calenders killing too. This one was different. My years could be off. Probably more 70's and I know the guy got the death penalty.

There was also the Studebakers murders sometime in the mid 80's. That was a nightclub off Airline.

Baton Rouge restaurant murders have been a city staple.

The girl who got killed in Calenders was one of my best friends in HS.
The audio of those phone calls on the news were brutal.

I had worked with one of the Studebakers killers at another restaurant before he did that. Clark was his last name I think.

Calenders was 1995. Studebakers in 84. Looks like the RL murders were in 79. All you can find on that kind of stuff is legal fillings unless it's more recent

I'm old enough to remember when a trip to Plank Road was considered high end.
