There is no shortage of South LA restaurants that believe that if you put enough cayenne pepper on something and fry it that makes it Cajun/Creole, for some Red Lobster would be a step up.

Chain restaurants have been largely taken over by Democrats. Last time I went to RL there were only Democrats there and the Democrat waiter really seemed to resent they fact we were there.

Typically only go to locally owned non-chain restaurants now a days.

Eating at a red lobster would mean I wasn't from Louisiana.

That's #1.

#2, the murders at the Baton Rouge Red Lobster scarred me for life and I wouldn't eat at one if it was the only good left on earth. Bloody handprints everywhere, hard pass.

The one by the mall or did we used to have another one? That one has only been there a few years. I remember some murders at Calendars years ago

Did free Cheddar Bay biscuits ruin this once fine establishment?

The food, experience, and the clientele ruined the establishment.

Also the decor.

The restaurant would be awesome if the food, the experience, the clientele, and the restaurant were totally different.

Red Lobster didn't get into the Baton Rouge market until a few years ago. You sure you weren't talking about the one in New Orleans?

I hear it's pretty popular.

A year ago when I spent a month in Billings, Montana. I needed some sort of seafood and had no other choice. Shortly after, I discovered a New Orleans restaurant and never looked back.

The last time I felt the hankering to treat the seafood lover in me.

j/k, I have no clear memory of ever being in a Red Lobster. I was dragged into a Captain D's once, but I knew that was a horrible mistake going in and just made the best of it.

I vaguely remember going to one as a kid, I think it was on Florida just west of Airline. Only other time I've been is last year because that's where my son wanted to eat for his birthday. My in-laws introduced him to RL, they're from the West Bank, so yeah.

probably in the 80s - can't recall the exact year, RL isn't all that memorable.

Some his-tor-ie.

The first red lobster in BR opened on Airline and Florida Blvd around 1980. 1981 guy who works there kills the manager and a bunch of other staff in a robbery. After closing. Place supposedly was a blood bath. Chased em around the place and killed them in a bunch of different areas of the place.

That closed the place obviously. The Ethan Allen and such came later and red lobster reopened in that same spot in the 90's.

It failed because of location eventually. The one here in the 2000's or whatever is really the 3rd in BR.
