He also said, "getting old ain't for sissies."

I miss him. I was with him, just him and me, when he passed last October. He fought until the very end.

Wasting away in a bed? I'd rather go in a gun fight while robbing a bank when I'm 103.

There’s more than you think. And even more of us that are hoping that we are on that path.

Yeah I don’t get the “omg please be me when I’m old” posts

Sweet story for the couple and their family though

There are only 3 acceptable ways to die:
- Combat
- On top of a mountain, naked, allowing nature to devour your corpse
- During sex

If we were vampires and death was a joke
We'd go out on the sidewalk and smoke
Laugh at all the lovers and their plans
I wouldn't feel the need to hold your hand
Maybe time running out is a gift
I'll work hard 'til the end of my shift
And give you every second I can find
And hope it isn't me who's left behind

It's knowing that this can't go on forever
Likely one of us will have to spend some days alone
Maybe we'll get forty years together
But one day I'll be gone
Or one day you'll be gone

Seems kinda of a painful way to go, being burned and then likely drowned. Perhaps you mean to say after you go this is how you want them to dispose of your body?

I’d prefer my cause of death to read “asphyxiation……from motorboatin’”

Should the photo be photographed with the beds in the opposite positions?

I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandpa, not screaming and crying like the passengers in his car.

Friends grandparents died moments apart. The grandmother died moments before the grandmother woke up. She was told he was gone, and she replied "he's no longer hurting". She closed her eyes and never opened them again.

I'm 74. bad shoulders, open heart surgery, both knees replaced, hemorrhoid surgery, miscellaneous broken bones and other surgeries. I take enough pills when I wake up that I'm able to skip breakfast. Prostate surgery next month.

Yep - these are exactly the lyrics that I thought of too when I read the story. What a great, sad, beautiful song.

If you have been with someone for a long time and divorce is not likely, it is sobering to realize that somebody will probably be left alone someday...just like the song says.
