Thinking the same thing just a little while ago. I was out in front of my house watering the garden and a young black kid wearing headphones was walking down the street and I could hear some serious off-key rambling and realized he was listening to rap crap and doing his best to be the next Snoop Dog.
I was thinking singers like Nat King Cole and Sam Cooke are rolling over in their graves with the way that genre of music has gone.

While I understand your point, and agree to a certain extent. Also gotta remember these are different generations, bro. The people who grew up on Motown are not the ones listening to rap, and most definitely do not consider it a step forward at all.
You should talk to some older black folks. They hate alot of rap music just as much as this board.

Completely different genre. Thosr guys were soul singers. Soul/R&B still exist, albeit with maybe 1/10 the popularity that Hip Hop has.

The biggest take from this article isn't the part where the teen dummies were embracing the self destructive culcha, that's expected.
What is surprising however is one of the Uncle Tom's had enough intelligence and concern for everyone involved and not involved to call the police in the first place. (Snitching)
