When do you think life as we know it in this country will return to normal?

If I had to guess, they will relax the restrictions for a few months starting in July, and then we will go back to these restrictions until the middle of the following spring. At that point we will then have a vaccine and more treatment options.

I don’t know. Did flying ever get back to normal after 9/11?
Once liberties are taken they are rarely given back.
I think we’ll see close to normal again but govt overreaction and posturing has been out of control since Katrina.
What does the next flu have to do to warrant this kind of response?

It never will. The old normal is gone.

If this level of societal shutdown is still going on until next spring then we're in a Great Depression.

It will be utter chaos if this goes on till next spring

Tbh it's basically normal where I am except for school being out and not being able to sit down in a restaurant. We're having the busiest week at work we've had in a while. That may all change, but right now no crisis here.

The blue zone is the time period where the protective measures are enacted. As you can see, if we remove them in September we would face almost the same level of risk as we are facing now.

Just like 9/11 changed this country, so will the kung flu

I think the increase in new cases will level off in April
We should be in the recovery phase in May
Things will start to return to normal in June

At this rate, I'll be content with football season starting on time with no bullshite involved. Anything before then is lagniappe.
