When i need to reset some things and take a step back and I do some hand tool woodworking. I dont mess with my machines.
Just some sativa weed, some music and a few really sharp hand planes. Taking beautiful shavings off of cherry lumber and the sound of the plane iron slicing the wood is very peaceful. Finish with a smoothing plane and then possibly a card scraper and it's very satisfying to take a rough sawn board and flattening and smooth it by hand.

Don’t see career heading to greener pastures,
Ive been fired four times in sales. 3 of them, I deserved early on in my career. I had an emergency beach chair in my trunk. I deserved it.
Reinvent yourself.

No one gives a frick what you did after you retire. The titles don’t mean shite. Just make your money.

Still healthy and erect at 75; looking forward to what tomorrow brings. Eagerly awaiting what’s next is important, try not to dwell on the past.

It’s about four years too early for a mid-life crisis, but you may just be mature for your age.
30s are a tough time for a lot of people. People are in tough time raising children (meaning children are often young and do not yet have a lot of independence), not typically at the highest earning level of their careers, lots of expenses, hard to save, but you have worked so hard you want to enjoy some of that. Probably the height of responsibilities in life after coming off one of the heights of independence and freedom (late teens and 20s). Just a messy time for many.
Fortunately, but the time you are 40 in America you will already be past your mid-life, so it is smooth sailing from there.

You think Kige Ramsey worries about any of that? Be more like Kige.

I’m 54 now. 35 seems so long ago. My world is 100% different now in a good way. Kids are grown and able to do more things with the wife. Sounds like you’re in a bit of a lull. Keep your nose down and keep moving. You got a long way to go.

I'm the other way. I slightly ran aground at 40. A bumpy couple of years and then I was back on schedule.

My body just crapped out at 45. Wouldn't heal anymore, couldn't get acclimated to the heat in summer, new injuries would appear, tired all the time, hangovers hurt more, and it just got worse....
