Did I say that?

As for your diet of chicken breasts, well, one of the main reasons we pursue lucrative employment is so we don’t have to suck down a steady stream of chicken breasts OR go to McDonalds

I don't do either one of those

This is where living healthier starts to get expensive.

Than eating chicken breast, yes. Eating healthy, unprocessed foods in general, no

Oh, and let me check with the wife how well this “eat the same way every day, and have my existence center around exactly one topic” approach to livelihood will work out.

I eat 5 or 6 proteins prepared different ways every month with an assortment of sides. I also am not a fat frick in the name of "variety" best of both worlds.

When my wife buys groceries she buys a lot of processed crap that the kids will eat up in a couple days. I can spend the same money for good food that will last us a week.

Of course its good. Its like you people can't understand you that you can have chicken in the air fryer, salmon broiling in the oven, and ground meat browning all at the same time.

And you are getting all that prepped, cooked and cleaned up in an hour? And you think you could do this for a family as well? Impressive

quote:

Because you probably feed them chips and apple sauce with 20g of added sugar. A 25lb kid does not cost the same to feed as a 175 lb man. Full stop

You have tried to feed zero mouths besides your own, and have no idea what you are talking about. My kids are offered what I eat, doesn’t mean they will eat it. Also doesn’t mean they won’t dig their hands in it, throw it on the floor, feed it to the dog, etc. They might not eat at all. I praised my 2 y/o last night for eating a single bite of chicken he wouldn’t eat during dinner. And he only ate it as a stall tactic for bed. So yes it costs more to feed the kid than they actually consume.

I am fortunate, I make enough money to feed them in a healthy way and have another adult their to help and keep them focused on eating during meal time. Others are not that fortunate and cut corners in order to put something in their kid’s stomach to avoid this waste. It’s cheaper.

Yeah, no shite. It's not a reason to become a fatass slob either.

You are insanely insecure. Your defense in any conversation is to call people fat

This is about food cost and practical reasons it costs more than you think.

And shame on you for heating that salmon up at work.

Well, in America, it's almost always appropriate.

The likelihood of it being true doesn’t have much to do with it being appropriate

Yes calling a person (or an entire message board full of people) you have never met or seen fat because fat people exist is definitely appropriate

And definitely doesn’t provide an indication of your own insecurities

I have no issue with using obvious hyperbole on a message board. It's not that difficult to spot. Do you think he really believes that every single poster on this board is fat?

Of course.

Well that's just not true

Sorry your kids are spoiled little shits. In my house,, growing up and now, you can eat or be hungry

I don't. Sad to see you project your insecurities on a message board about someone you've never met.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the same message board that has numerous posters that say 30 bmi isn't overweight because they lifted weights 2 decades ago in high school, no?

Bro, I have 3 boys all under 10, I understand it is hard, but what has helped me with the older two, is simply eat it or don't eat at all attitude. Now my youngest....well frick that's a Lost cause

But I cook for those 3 us me, wife and mil. It does cost a hell of a lot more than 200 per month, but it is a frick ton cheaper for me to cook than to go to McDonald's or some other crap.

And If I don't feel like cooking and we don't have left overs, I can buy rotisserie chicken from sams, some steam able veggies and steam able rice and/or beans. For under $10 for the meal.

Not gonna try to sit here and act like I send my kids with fresh fruit daily for lunch or some other bullshite because that would be a lie. They eat leftovers for lunch if we have them, Ravioli/lunchables if we don't. They enjoy little Debbie's and cookies and pizza pockets, but I do monitor their weight and have not hesitated to cut the crap out in the past when they got over weight.

Mine can get away with more though because they play sports, workout, and after homework is complete....are not allowed inside until dark or if it's raining. No computer, TV, YouTube, Nintendo etc until 730, baths are complete, lunches packed for next day and all homework/studying has been done and checked.

I can promise I am busier than 99.5% of the people on this board and am practically a single parent since my wife started her business. I have 2 in travel ball and mutiple other sports with mutiple lessons per week and youngest started teeball. We have some form of practice every night for one of them, tournaments almost every weekend and the other practices hitting/pitching/catching or workouts on the days they don't have practice.

So don't use the excuse about time or any of the other bs. Learn to use a pressure cooker, crock pot, sous vide, etc. Learn that watching TV is a waste of time and only 3 hours a week in the gym is all that is needed to get and stay in phenomenal shape, be strong, and look great naked. Couple hours of meal prep on a Sunday after church is easy.

But he'll for what most of you spend on eating out you could pay to have the meal prep done for you. At $7 -$8 a meal for most of the services, it would be cheaper and healthier to do that.

For those complaining about taste, Learn to cook, learn to use vacuum sealer, learn what and when to freeze and get a damn sous vide instead of using a microwave. Most offices would have no problem using sous vide and a small pot/container to heat your food.

We live in an amazing time in 2021 and can literally have the food ready to go when we get home and it can be healthy.

And nobody is saying give up your rice and gravy. Whta we are saying is, cut that back to dinner only twice a week or so. Or once a week plus spaghetti or pasta once a week. Other days cook meat and mutiple veggies.

Because shitposting on an off topic board on a sports forum is very productive.

Fat people are:

1) Unpleasant to look at
2) Drive up healthcare costs
3) Take up hospital beds
4) Are essentially the reason we are still in Covid
5) Slow up lines at grocery stores from all the junk they buy and how slow they move
6) Make airplane rides miserable
7) Make sitting in bleachers in Tiger Stadium miserable
