Seems like having procedures to change your body to look like the opposite sex is leaning into the mental disorder instead of treating it.

It is ok to have a mental illness if you accept that it is a mental illness.
We don't want people hiding the fact they're depressed or bipolar. We want them to be open about it and seek medical help.
Same should be for people that think their genitals are the wrong type.
