As an old geezer (65 in July), I remember watching RD a little in the late 60's, early 70's.

If senility is not creeping in, I think there was a team named The Kansas City Bombers. And it seems like Raquel Welch starred in a movie about RD that possibly shared that same name.

What exactly was (or is) the objective in Roller Derby? How exactly were points scored, goals achieved, etc? My memory is sketchy, but I think that not understanding the "game" is a primary reason why I didn't watch much of this alleged sport.

As if anyone ever believed it was real.

I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid. We all knew it was fake, but it was fun, mindless entertainment.

As a kid, WPIX and WOR out of New York. What a blast. It was real too. Just like professional wrestling back then.

I used to love the RD show that came on in the 80s/90s on (I think?) Saturday mornings. That shite was fyia

Probably thinking of rollergames
It came on here (Tampa area) on Sunday nights, paired with American gladiators, I think

They had a pool that they’d fill with gators during overtime

Only saw the gators once, and nobody ended up in the pool with them, that I recall

It was awesome

Sounds right. They had that huge, tall wall they could skate up and haul arse back down I believe.
