It’s the damn fries. Just give me a 1/3 of the portion for a 1/3 of the price. Even the small fries can be easily split with two people.

Yeah. If it is someone's first visit, I understand the frustration with the prices.

But the junior burger is a regular burger. And small fry is about 2 pounds.
Once you know the menu, you know the menu and come back. Load the burger up and go home happy.

It is $6.69 for a little bacon cheeseburger and $3.09 for a little cajun Fry at my local 5 guys. Regular drink is $2.29.

12.07 pre tax.

I usually just do the burger and drink. That's $8.98 pre tax. It's over $10 for a burger and a drink after tax.

That is a tad high. Burgers are da bomb IMO though.

Cost doesn’t equate to class...for example, if a 12oz bottle of water was $17.50 it would be considered expensive to whomever. Even Jeff Bezos would say that it was over priced. But him acknowledging that wouldn’t make him poor..see how this works?

True story, it's called Five Guys because it used to be $5 for a burger, clever right?

Silly they cost more than Company or Atomic burger. Both of which are better.

Newks has always been good in BR. Always fast and reasonably priced. Another knock on Five Guys is you call ahead but order is never ready because now they won’t cook your fries till you get there so I usually have to wait 10-15 minutes while burger is getting cold.

I was a bit surprised by the Newk's hate. Some of the stuff on their menu is trying a little too hard to be gourmet for my taste at least, but I don't think I've ever had a bad meal there.

Panera is pretty overpriced.

And how do they get away with this?
Oh, yeah, it's a "woman's" restaurant. Everything that caters to women instead of men costs about 50% more.

I went there today and thought about it being a little pricing than I remember.
The burger is an avg price or a decent burger.
They get you on the fries and drink which they have to make money somehow.

People seem to like the burgers, they seem to have a good business model, and everyone I visited to eat has been busy.

Comes down to supply and demand.

Yea while the food is good the prices are a bit much...hard to justify paying what you pay there at this point.
food is average

if I'm gonna spend that much at a quasi fast food place for a burger, I'll go to Johnny Rockets, they at least have great ambience

Maybe people like their burgers but my only time there was a disappointment 2 years ago. Never went back and never will.

The burgers are better than fast food burgers. That about as high of praise as I’ll go for 5 guys
