When did being a single mother become cool?

Okay. This might get me banned, but please hear me out.
I dont understand why so many young women (especially in minority communities) gravitate toward teenage pregnancy. Many of then will proclaim it doesn't mean they cant be successful. It is true that you can still have a good career as a single mom, but that is not the point.
The real reason single parenthood is bad is because it deprives the child of having their father. A strong male role model is crucial to a child's development.
I know that a mother with strong religious or family support can rear good children and that an immature father can potentially be a detriment instead of an asset. However, in most healthy family environments, two parent homes are superior to single parent homes.
It really bothers me how some women proclaim to be strong mothers, yet they will continually get pregnant irresponsibly. They never seem to learn from past mistakes.
Edit: many dont try to do the right thing by her kids. They should train their kids to be more productive members in society. Instead they continue the same failed way of thinking. And I know men share half of the blame as well. But that's what it is HALF. They are equally responsible.

It has not nor will it ever be cool. It is literally the quickest way to guarantee a life of poverty.

It became cool when the government started paying you to be one.

Who thinks it’s cool other than the single moms trying to justify their mistakes?

About the time welfare made it possible to support a family without a father in the home.

I can't speak for minority communities, but I feel like most of the young girls who got pregnant when we had just graduated high school honestly thought their current boyfriends were going to stick around. I don't think they originally set out to be single mothers.

They just irresponsibly frick like rabbits and accidentally get pregnant.

Do you really think they gravitate towards teen preganancy or are they simply too stupid to care about safe sex and taking preventative mearsures?

I know right. The fathers of my 3 kids are all absent from the picture, but I do my best to provide for them, their mother, and her current boyfriend.

When did it become cool to knock up a girl and then vanish?
I know several single mothers who decided not to be miserable in a bad marriage. With the exception of one, they are all doing great, and are doing a great job of raising their kids.

I don't think it's become a "cool" thing, but we've raised them to hero status for some fricked up reason
