Gulf Coast bank sent me an email today saying they were expanding drive thru hours and in-branch would go to by appointment only.

Yes, banks do that

The other day I tried to get $60 from Costco as I was checking out. The cashier told me that they weren't giving cash back despite the fact that it looked as though the credit card swiper allowed it. She showed me the receipt showing that it wasn't debited onto the receipt.
Out of an abundance of caution (i.e., just in case), I went and withdrew $2K from my bank.

Are you under some type of impression that a branch of a bank closing temporarily impacts the bank’s overall operations and function in any way?
Because it doesn’t.

Coincidentally I just went through my bank's drivethrough. They're usually pretty cordial but today they all had worried looks. I wonder if somebody's sick.
