The party of Donald Trump, the Republicans, ended slavery.
The Republican party was a progressive party back then. Abolition was a "liberal" position in the mid-19th century.

Listen man if the sight of a black person working on their own free will upsets you that much I won't judge
Who said it upsets me? I really don't care about this any more than its ability to distract me from work that I'd rather not do.
You're the one that seems offended by the actions taken by the Wheel of Fortune show.

Would it be better if they used this image?

No, I don't see any gunplay or police officers in these pics. Need to give them the real experience.

tour guides do wear period clothing.
Well that's just gross.

Do people assumed they were slaves because they were black?
If someone posted that pic on the OT with no context, everyone would assume they were slaves. But now we act like that's the last thing we would have ever thought, that they were slaves.

Remind me of all those color pictures taken of slaves in the 1800s

Same thing was said for the monuments, and they are gone now.
It wasn't the same thing. I was against them being taken down and I can see the difference.

It's hilarious to me that today's republicans think that the Republican party of today is the same party it was in the 1800s

Go through the differences then

I can point to one fact..the mass exodus of democratic politicians to the Republican party during the civil rights era.

I disagree, I think it's a great look for them.. they also look good in orange jumpsuits

People on the OT getting offended by the offended. Oh, the irony
Posted on 6/20/17 at 1:33 pm to JS87
It seems only logical to me that if we are expected to erase all history of the South, including our architecture, and the statues, and anything else that someone might someday take offense to, that ALL history of those who are offended must be erased and forgotten. All of it. Including more recent history from the '50s and '60s.
We can all wake up each day like a goose...no memory of the previous day.
But, wait. I used the word "logical."

are you trying to use todays definition of liberal to describe something that happened when liberal had a completely different meaning?
