What’s your solution for the homeless?

Is there a way to help them without feeding their addiction? Giving them money in my opinion, just adds fuel to the fire.

Stop feeding them, stop letting them camp on public property, you'll have far less homeless.

Perhaps a series of games where they are pitted against each other...

This is in fact the answer. The horror stories at a few facilities ruined this whole process. Involuntary commitments are the answer, more facilities to commit individuals, less playing on emotion and more on actual wise decisions. It wont happen with social media though.
It's a harsh but absolutely true fact that some people belong locked away for the betterment of us all (and also them) even if they have not yet committed a crime.

Many who are homeless are self medicating with mental issues. Jimmy Carter passed the best mental health bill in the history of the USofA and Ronnie killed it when he got in office. To add insult to injury Ronnie signed the laws to close the long term locked care facilitates that treated the population that needed it and converted to mental health care by police. Not only does it not work, but it also costs about 8 x of the old long term locked facilities.
Hey, we privatized jail / prison under Ronnie and they had to fill the beds some way.

Pick any island and send them there. All of them. If you got rid of homeless and Illegal Immigrants crime would plunge in this country.

There isn’t an immediate one. Cut out entitlements and let things slowly correct themselves.

Sam Kinison had a great bit on this. Execution. After you shoot one they’ll get a job.

We set up a government funded program in every city experiencing a homelessness problem and give them billions of tax payer dollars that will go mostly to payroll for the employees as the homeless crises continues to spiral out of control. Problem solved. Next.

The problem is certain percentage of the population can not live safely / successfully out of a long term locked care facility do to mental defect. When you go residential / out-patient you put the power in the hands of the affected and most will not admit to problems or stay on their meds when they are in charge.
