Nope. Distance runners tend to have a really low resting HR. A buddy who's crazy fast had his measured at 38. Distance running makes your heart become much more efficient at pumping blood to the body, thus fewer beats are required.

In looking at my medical chart for various doctor visits during my 30s, I see that my resting heart rate is the following (in order):

74, 44, 60, 60, 72, 64

I'm guessing that this is sort of an estimate when the nurse checks your pulse. Was the 44 just a bad estimate? I don't even see that on the chart.

It's not just running. It's anyone with good cardio fitness. I'm sure crossfit bros have a good resting HR. When I'm in shape, sub 50 is easy. My "walking around" HR is usually in the low 70's. I rarely take my true resting HR though. Never have a monitor on at that time.

Male, RHR was 53 for the last check-up in Dec. Age really doesn't matter. 53 is solid across the board.

I'm in such good shape mine is zero.

I'm like a BMW, I can turn myself completely off on command.

That's opposite of Owlvis who turns everyone else off.

Over 80 and only 30 years old. Am I not measuring right? Counted the pulse on my neck for 30 seconds then multiplied by 2. I did just walk up the stairs and into my office though. Are you supposed to wait?

I'm not fat and I work out about 5 times a week, weights and/or cardio, and I've been doing this routinely for a while
