He’s passed on now but a 4. He was the best man I have ever known. He never raised his voice to me but he didn’t have too. I respected him so much I would never have done anything to intentionally disappoint him. The absolute salt of the earth.

It’s not nearly as good as my relationship with your Dad.

My dad was my best friend. He passed away in his 60’s a few years ago.
Not a day went by that we didnt speak. I miss him dearly.

In between 2 and 3. Love and respect him but he didn’t do anything to foster closeness between us as I got older. He also made some key mistakes as a grandfather that cost him time with his grandkids. Not hateful or mean things, just showed that he valued some other things over family.

We talk weekly but it’s not as close as I’d like.

Was #4 before he passed away in Jan 2022….I wouldn’t be near where I am without him. He would have been lit on that baseball national title…..it really hit me when they won it and he didn’t call me immediately after.

He had his flaws and could be very selfish, I don’t think he ever quite understood me, but he had the best intentions and we could talk for hours about just about anything. I miss him, not the version of him his last few months on Earth though.

I wish it was #4 but it's never even come close to that.

For sure.

I have lived without my dad for 23+ years now.

Best person I've ever known. Not perfect, but all of him is still in me. Super intelligent, but not necessarily educated in normal terms. Caring, funny, loving. I still hurt and miss that man so much.

My father is kind, generous, and wise. He is 80 now and I am trying to enjoy spending time with him as much as I can.

Love him. But, we aren't super close. Nothing bad has happened, he's just pretty absent minded, not much interest in his grandkids. Will call me 4-5 times a year asking what channel the Hogs are on.
