I don't really wear them in public because they are camo

Same. I will also wear them in my boat or riding my zero turn, etc

I am porbably trashy by OT standards.

Point, you're right, it doesn't interfere with anything in my life. But I do form an opinion based on the things I observe.

Wearing those things to school, the mall, etc. causes me to form the opinion that those people lack common sense, reasoning, and situational awareness. Think further than the closest thing in the closet. "What am I getting dressed to go do? what cloths best suit that activity?"

I know this board gets pretty divided on fashion stuff. What's trashy, what's not, why do you care? But the question was asked, and so I answered.

Define hot chicks? Because the only girls I have seen with these on are usually the hippy hairy pussy posse. These are the girls who are into hiking and not shaving.

Granted I've been out of college for almost a decade, but the girls who used to wear them were pretty hot and only pretended to hike most of the time.

"Hiking" as in walking my dog on the "trail" by the lakes.

I'm definitely trashy by OT standards , but amongst the general public, I try to toe the line at least

I would never wear them because I don't like how they wrap around your big toe.

I honestly didn't even know they had different types that didn't have the toe straps. I guess because that's the popular style and I've just always associated the the toe strap with chacos.

Always been a big sandal, flip flop guy, and I recognize the quality in chacos. Now that I know I don't have to get big toe straps I'll probably end up getting a pair

If this is your definition of hot, there is no way in hell I could convince you otherwise. I guess they are Alabama 8s.

They aren't as protective as a $15 Walmart pair of tennis shoes

They aren't as easy to get on and off as a cheap pair of sandals and your feet still get just as dirty in a dusty environment

Yet they cost a shite ton more and look like they should've been abandoned trying to get to the Red Sea..Listen, sorority girl fads come and go..but I just don't see what's so great about this shoe.

I always noted that in my experience stuff LSU was a little more hair gel and t shirts than other SEC schools, but LSU folks here tell me I'm wrong, so I don't know what to believe anymore.

I've had the same pair for 6 years, I love mine. I wear them hiking since Fayetteville has a lot of mountain hiking trails in the mountains. I also wearing them on float trips or casually on a nice day. I don't care what other people think, I am nice and comfy in my t shirt, khakis and chacos.

They do, but these have been popular in the SEC for at least 10 years. I have one pair that has only been used for summer backpacking, they're good sandals.

It's like a lot of trends in the south, where we don't usually need a Yeti or an Arcteryx shell, but it's not like that stuff is of low quality.

So you're arguing that people in this thread should wear tennis shoes from Walmart and cheap sandals (presumably also from Walmart)?

You are right. And our greeks def dress fratty, but they dont go all out like yall did. I remember going to UGA and seeing chacos, pfg shorts, and kavu visors and thinking this is nothing like LSU. Our frats were simple polos, khaki shorts, boat shoes

Or they just don't give a frick.

I have gotten to the don't give a frick stage in my life and it's nice though I still don't go total bum mode as of yet. One day maybe.

I can't tell how many times I have walked into a store with a friend of mine and people just sort of stick their nose up at him. Even the cashiers making minimum wage. The crazy thing is the guy is worth millions and very successful. Probably one of the smartest real estate investors I personally know and just a very unique guy. His RE portfolio is huge. Beyond OT baller huge and he even has a published book about RE investing but the dude dresses like a bum and hardly really brushes his hair. It's just how he is.

Point is that you're making baseless assumptions on superficial thing. Superficial things don't matter to everyone but that doesn't mean they...

As you put it.

A lot of people (myself included) blend it some, but you had some people who were pure Kavu and Patagonia while others were all Brooks Brothers.

They can wear moon boots for all I care

I just dont get the pros of wearing these other than a fashion trend. I do a lot of hiking and they just seem strange to me. Whitewater rafting? Canoeing? They seem great for that.
