What's your go-to "Task tracking" tool?

I mostly use sheets of paper (#oldskool), but transfer to Excel for formal meetings.
I've tried various apps and programs, but none have ever stuck with me. We use PM software for many tasks, but there are tasks that come from all over, so there's not one holistic view.
What are you all using that seems to work?
It needs to be stupid simple, so that it will easily become a habit. Should be cross-platform so I can do it from phone or computer.

Outlook and all the other Office suite programs are pretty effective.

Planner on MS Teams.

My Outlook Calendar
I have access to it
My wife has access to it
My staff has access to it
Can be accessed from computer, phone, tablet, etc...
If it's not on the outlook calendar, I'm very likely forgetting about it.

Outlook. Because it's synced with my phone and computer.

Might give it another shot, not sure why, but it didn't take in previous attempts.

Google Calendar is good for home use, reminders via Google assistant work as well. Also depends on iphone/Google preference.

Yes... ?
It's not as clear cut as that, not every task is thru a Teams group, or even internal, etc, etc.
Plus, the planner portion of teams is grayed out for us.

That's my current system. Need to update it to 3.0
2.0 was trapper keeper with built-in calculator.

Dude, I'm not on the fryer. I'm the guy that takes the order from the customer to the fryer. I'm a people person. The fryer can't just talk to customers.

Dry erase board to track project bid due dates.
Each project bid gets a folder in File Explorer arranged by due date
Each Folder contains vendor proposals, my excel sheet that breaks down the project by task, and my proposals.
Current projects are organized by folder.
Each folder containing separate folders for vendor proposals, shop drawings, contracts, etc.
Each project is basically the same, task wise, so my only real tracking is for my bid proposals.

I have been trying out various programs and systems for 20 years...I have given up and resigned to the fact that the best thing for me is a regular legal pad.

That's where I'm at. I transfer from legal pad and from email, etc, to an excel list that we review in 1:1 meetings. It seems to work, but sometimes things get overlooked like maybe I grabbed a different pad for a meeting, or it was a conversation, etc...
