What’s your commute time to work?

Looking for a house where we are moving and I found one I really like, it’s about 50 minutes from where my job will be. I’ve always lived within 10-15 minutes of my previous jobs and the longer commute has me worried.

Is this something I’ll tire of quickly or is it something you get used to?

I drive 22 miles on 635 E in Dallas through the high five and get there in 30 mins 90% of the time.

I am moving to Rockwall to get closer to my office which will now be like 2 miles away. Looking forward to that.

If your boss told you to work 32 more hours a month and take a pay decrease, would you do it?

40-45 minutes for years. I listen to true crime podcasts and music to pass the time. It’s not bad at all.

40 minutes in the AM

55 minutes in the PM

I don’t mind it because 80% of its in a rural area and my hours help me avoid the worst traffic. I’ve been listening to Continuing Ed every morning and crushing it at work. I usually listen to podcasts or music on the ride home.

Before Covid it was an hour each way.

Now it’s a 5 second walk from the bedroom to my home office

depends on whether I shower or not. Usually roll out of bed, make some coffee then head to my office.

My company has said we can work fun home permanently now.

My current commute is 15 minutes both ways.

I used to have a 45 minute commute with no traffic but I moved closer to work because more often than not it was an hour plus to get home.

It really depends on if you like what you drive and if you like your family.
