One of my friend's younger sister was home from college with one of her friends from college. They were hit by a fire pumper truck in the intersection and both were killed. The weird part of the story was that they had just gone by her best friend's house to pick her up, but she did not go with them because she was sick. Guess who was driving the fire truck? The father of the girl that was sick. He had also been sick and was driving the fire truck while on medication. He killed his daughter's best friend and almost his daughter.

After Harvey, and the ensuing flooding in port Arthur, I was following some homeland security guys to a staging site and they had been told of a route that could possibly get us thru..guy tries to follow about a mile behind us on a closed highway (no one could cross the border anywhere except an hour north, so people were desperate). Water beats us to the spot and we are forced to turn around, so I was first heading back west.....se a faint blinking light and had to quickly stop and swerve him...ge had hit a cow and completely destroyed his Honda accord. He was alive and got out.
Not sure how he lived....car was crushed

Knew about this guy in his 40's that worked for a local lumber company and not sure if he was trying to retrieve something or what but the saw blade dug into his leg, severing his femoral artery and he died before getting to the hospital.
My neighbor and his family was looking at marble/granite for his kitchen, the slabs in the yard are huge and heavy as hell, and some shite-arse worker accidentally knocked one of the slabs over killing his 5 year old son. Very sad.

There's a video out there of a police officer in Vietnam that was cut in half at the waist after being run over by a truck. He was completely conscious and lived for at least 10 minutes after the accident. People drove by the scene like it was just a stalled car on the side of the road without a care. A stranger approached and talked with the man about what to say to his family.

Knew of a dude who tried to unclog a corn head with it still engaged. Not a bright move. He got pullled into the heade and went all the way thru the combine. Don’t think there were enough solid pieces left to even bag and tag him.

Meningitis.
Worked with a girl on LSUs campus one summer. She comes to me and as she isn't feeling well, and asks to go home. I say sure. Find out about 4 Pm she's in hospital with meningitis, found out the next AM that she had passed away. Less than 24 hours. Scary stuff.
