re: What's the worst smell in the world?

Personal worst I can remember:

In high school I worked at a grocery store. There was a wet shop vac that the produce department had been using for God only knows how long. It broke one day and the stench was so bad that we had to close the store.

Cleaning a canes walk-in cooler two weeks after Katrina. Cases of rotting chicken tenders and coleslaw and mayonnaise and the list goes on. I can smell it right now. The mold was coming out of the tops of the bins the marinading tenders were left in. It was fricked.

One of the guys cleaning with us went to throw a garbage bag of chicken into a dumpster and it came untied and spilled all over him. A shower of rancid chicken. It was awful. Pooor bastard went and hosed himself off in the mop sink and drove home to Slidell and changed. He came back to help too. I think I would’ve just had the rest of the day off….

Or the smell of someone opening their freezer after just coming back to new Orleans after three months away. Encountered that one way too many times

One time when I worked at rouses in seafood we put piping hot crawfish into a ice chest. Closed it. Then rolled it into the walk-in cooler. Bruh the next morning that shite smelled like a dead body.
