That’s a lot of shitty events in a 30 year period.
Uhhh, by my method of simple math, that would be a 50+ year span.
But yeah, lots of nasty things happened during that time period.

Poland. Pretty much whenever.

Somewhere around 520-530 AD.
In 536 AD there were several volcanos that erupted that blocked out the sun for 15-18 months. Crops died, animals died, there was famine and a little ice age. Three or four years later there was a plague that killed a fifth of the population.
Culturally, Ragnarök is theorized to be based on this time period. It caused the Mongols to migrate further west and several empires fell during this time (Avars in the Balcans, Sassians in the Middle East, Teotihuacan in Central America, etc.) This led to a cultural collapse in many areas. Not to mention that during this time there was war going on between the Byzantines, Vandals, Franks, Ostrogoths, Goths, and Sassian’s on 3 different continents. And on top of that there was a major schism in the Catholic Church’s of the East and West and religious persecution going on.
What a shite time to be alive!

Pretty much any time prior to 1940 or 1950.

1990s Central Africa seemed pretty bad. At least in the modern times we live in.

quote:My dad was born in 1924. In '27, the flood dispersed his family and my grandfather moved to a new Parish with no way to make a living. Then comes the depression. At the earliest age possible, my father joined the Navy and went straight to the Pacific theatre after boot.
The depression didn’t look like fun
Not that this experience is anything like the worst mentioned above, but you brought it up, and I am not sure my father ever fully recovered from those 3 things.

This is what I was coming to share.

It just looks like a miserable time to be alive.

Easy. 2370 BC. Just before the flood.

The reign of Nero. I would have been fed to lions or burned alive for being a Christian.

Imagine being blessed to be born in the US in time to see a perfect human being akin to JC himself, who could read a teleprompter impeccably, be elected as the first Kenyan Muslim as president. A presidency by the way, that had absolutely zero scandals or missteps. Only to be followed by a con man Nazi fascist who grabbed women by their pussies. But then you were saved by a worldwide pandemic created by eating bat soup and a potato head, who ran a flawless campaign from his basement, that despite running 6th in the primaries, had everyone ahead of him drop out just ahead of super Tuesday to hand him the nomination. You know, saving democracy and all, the democratic way. And due to a totally not intentional release of a pandemic to get rid of the Russian asset, garnered a never to be seen again 80+ million votes. And despite all the wars and illegals flooding the country while he napped, he "answered every question Joe!" I still can't believe those 4 years actually happened. And if not for Trump turning his head, we'd probably still be experiencing another 4 years of lunacy. Even wilder this time around because they were just getting cooking with their woke, tranny loving, destruction of this country.

I thought he died way before the 1250s?

From a US perspective it would be being born right around 1910. You'd be a kid during WW1, experience the Great Depression as a teen, WW2, Vietnam, the missile crisis, Kennedy assassination, one of the worst presidents in our history in Carter, and the gas shortages, inflation that came with him would have hit around your retirement years if you hadn't already been killed in a war.
Also those "strong men" who created the "good times" we've all enjoyed are what lead to the weak men well on their way to creating hard times, or at least they were from 2020-2024.
