A friend of mine was working 3-11 and went to the bar after work. He hooked up with a stripper from a club that was up the street. She was just having a drink at our regular bar, and they wound up at my apartment.
He knocks it off and gets home at 4 AM. Pregnant wife was not due for another two weeks, but she had went into labor and was at the hospital. Pre-cellphone days, and no one had a clue how to reach him.
He gets to the hospital and finds out his son was born at the very same time he was banging the stripper.
My buddy passed away in April. He carried the guilt of not being there for his now grown son's birrth (he is in his late 30s), until the day he died.
R.I.P. Johnny.

I had two coworkers, one married female, the other in a long term committed relationship. Anyway, these two were cheating together and one day went out to a nicer dining establishment together. They walked in and apparently passed the married females husband with another woman. They said nothing to each other and went about their business and had their meal together despite one having their spouse in the same room.

Happened a long time ago, but a distant family member walked in on his wife and another man and killed both of them. He did a couple months waiting on trial and was never convicted by a jury.

This idiot cheated on my smokeshow sister-in-law. He was a dweeb, deadbeat, who kept getting fired from every job she got him. She does really well and super hot and really easy-going. Had two kids, cheated on her once and got a second chance then did it again. He tells the worst stories too. frick that guy.

Some chick that was married with kids got caught cheating with her father in law. Then it became questionable whether the grandpa was actually the dad for some of the kids. He became known as BawPaw

No, but he got caught multiple times over the years.
He and I are the only one that knew that story until the day he died. I guess I'll take it to my grave too.
His first wife was his real love, but he couldn't keep it in his pants. I never heard him disrespect her, or say anything negative about her.
The one that he cheated on while she was giving birth was usually referred to as, "that crazy bitch".
Oddly enough he had 5 kids. 3 by the first wife and 2 by the second. That boy was the only 'bad seed' in the bunch. Stayed in trouble. The others were always good kids.

That's the messed up part, how were they? It really messed them up. Basically, the mom and dad constantly fought over topics related to them, so I guess that's why he blamed them. It was abusive.
Then, he had no remorse whatsoever about it, got himself and apartment, then tried to normalize it, especially when it came to my friend. He basically flaunted his new girlfriend. It was crazy.

I supported s woman and her 2 kids for about a year, before her son asked me if her mom had a new boyfriend. I was young and couldn't see the forest for the trees. Learned s very painful lesson.

One of our male staff in the hospital just got offered a job as a rep. While still working in the hospital, he was banging a rep from another company (OT 5). A doctor saw them making out in the hospital hall, and reported both of them to their companies. We have not seen her since, and he had his job offer withdrawn. Over a 45 year old OT5 who has banged most doctors, half the male staff, and a majority of the other male reps locally.

I travel a lot for work, so I've heard of some crazy ones....including one girl that had at least long term boyfriend in another city. She stayed weekends away because of 'an intense work schedule'. I think one of her friends told the husband. Divorce happened - luckily they didn't have kids yet.
Another one (from when we lived in Chicago) where the wife of 15+ years cheated on her husband (my colleage) with their daughter's female softball coach, who was also married. Daughter found out before the husband. Divorce seemed to happen quickly.
A girl I dated informally for a few months in undergrad became a teacher. I found out years later that she got married and started working in a high school. She got caught sleeping with a student. Made the news and everything.
Probably the most standard one I heard of was when a colleague (with an intense work travel schedule) suspected his wife of cheating and hired a PI. PI got text messages and tracked the wife's activities for a while - she was having an affair with a doctor she worked with. My buddy pretended everything was fine for months while he carefully prepared for and filed for divorce. He got the address of the doctor that was sleeping with his wife and brought a print out of the text messages to the doctor's wife at some point. That was an ugly divorce from what I understand but the doctor's marriage somehow survived.
Honestly infidelity is unfortunately common. I probably know of 6-7 other more benign stories that are boring by comparison to the above. In most cases I think cheating is a symptom of a major foundational issue in the marriage....and ends up being the spark that sets of the divorce grenade.

That's the truth. Early in my career (2003ish) I was in-house for an ER physicians group in ATL. These cats were all board-certified blah blah, so they were pulling big checks ($60-90k/month). There were a few that would come in every month looking for an advance because they were strapped.

Stories like this are just reason 6069 of why cheating is such a bad idea. Just get divorced then do what the hell you want. Cheating fricks people up to where they do irrational things, like murder.
