Besides the ruggedness and off-road capability, what value is there to be had in owning a Jeep?

They’re expensive and unreliable.
They get terrible gas mileage.
Other than the Grand Cherokee, they aren’t comfortable.
FCA doesn’t stand by its products and is in legal trouble over sales reporting fraud.

If everyone was smart, they’d be driving a Toyota Corolla for 200k Miles.

So, don't get one.
I bought mine cause I wanted one since I was 8.
Value, come on baw. Get a CD or something.
Bet I could sell mine faster than my Chevy shorted 1/2 ton.

Only people I know with Jeeps are going through a midlife crisis. 45 year olds that are trying to pretend they are 25 again.

There are three main types of Jeep owners
1. True gear heads, shop guys, whatever you wanna call them
2. “Baws” who just wanna sling mud and drink natty light
3. 40 year old women who put cheesy arse stickers and all kind of cheap plastic gizmos on their Jeep and preach about “living the Jeep life”

This thread is like asking what value is there in a pool besides swimming and bikinis.

Jeeps do tend to have a higher resale value.

that’s not how it works

What’s the value in having a Ferrari other than the incredible performance and elite status symbol?

Top off life is legit. Knowing I can pretty much go anywhere I want whenever I want is cool (yes I use it off roading). I always wanted one. Finally got one. It is everything I had hoped it would be.. and then some. Love plotting my next small or big mod. Enjoy the community (other forums). There's really a lot of redeeming factors.
