Or people like me and the wife who like being outdoors, and use unimproved roads to get there?

My Wrangler has been very reliable. It has 90K miles on it and I’ve had no issues.
It’s a fun vehicle to own.

If everyone was smart, they’d be driving a Toyota Corolla for 200k Miles.
I drove a jeep for 481,000 miles. But that was when a jeep was a real jeep and they made the 4.0 inline 6, and I did all my own maintenance and work on it. Yeah, I'm kinda old. Get off my lawn.

Their check engine lights are some of the best in the industry.
I removed the check engine light bulb from the instrument cluster. No more problems.

There are three main types of Jeep owners
1. True gear heads, shop guys, whatever you wanna call them
2. “Baws” who just wanna sling mud and drink natty light
3. 40 year old women who put cheesy arse stickers and all kind of cheap plastic gizmos on their Jeep and preach about “living the Jeep life
And the suburban Dad who envied those who had one, when in undergrad.

Looks like in Taos Ski Valley and low road up by Rio Grande.

Those two pics show some seriously aggressive terrain that only a four door jeep could handle

I used to want a Jeep. Drove one once for 3 weeks as a rental and I got over that shite quick.

That's what mine is. Bought it new in 2000 and still own it. 110K miles and never really had any serious issues. I'll give it to my Dad soon because I'm ready for a new (old) fun vehicle and I don't have room for both. But by giving it to my Dad I can sort of keep it so to speak.

I was forced to rent a Patriot once when I went up to New York for an interview.
Hands-down the worst car I've ever driven.

Only people I know with Jeeps are going through a midlife crisis. 45 year olds that are trying to pretend they are 25 again.
People always say this.
Maybe the 45 year old is now financial capable to waste money on something he always wanted but never got.
Why does it have to be a mid life crisis? what the hell is wrong with wanting something that you've been wanting since you were a lot younger, and finally getting it when your 45? No i'm not 45, or close too it.

I don't understand the Jeep thing, the truck thing, or the convertible thing.
Those people probably don't understand why I like small, low to the ground, quick handling cars either.
I'd buy a jeep if I lived in the sticks and needed 4wd. Otherwise, I'm with ya. Handling is everything to me. Driving a lifted truck in normal, higher traffic areas is miserable. I like being able to corner and fit in parking spots and garages everywhere.

Topless 2dr manual transmission Jeeps are incredibly fun to drive.
