I always get frustrated when I post a nuanced reply to an OP, only to then look at the name and remember that they are either a pseudo intellectual trying to make themselves feel better about their life choices and stances, or a troll.

A lot of gun people are on the spectrum. Not even joking. Not talking about the hunting side.

Different people are going to be excited by different things. That’s the simple explanation.

As for specifics… when I fire a rifle, I enjoy the feeling of unleashing such a powerful force for even one fraction of a second. I marvel at the ability to affect a target hundreds of yards away… it’s a power bigger than me.

As for ships… they are an expression of man’s collective effort to attempt mastery over nature. Again, a power bigger than me. It’s awesome to see what people can do together.

Or not… if you don’t have a connection to it… enjoy your stuff.

If you take a normal dude who has never shot a gun and give him a suppressed MP5 he’ll grin for an hour afterwards and it has nothing to do with feeling macho, etc.

You simply can’t trust anyone who wouldn’t find that fun IMO

At least you outed yourself as a FUDD. I bet you hate anything that doesn't have a wooden stock, and semi-autos make you long for the purity of a good bolt action 710, like the real men of the past used, cause that's all they needed.

I truly believe every man has day dreamed about robbing a bank, rappelling out of a helicopter, and being on an old school battle ship.

Personally, I DGAF what you do or don't get enjoyment out of. You should try that approach.

I have fired many weapons. It's not a foreign activity. But, when I do, I don't feel the same thing that some of my friends feel. I can tell. They get really excited, they're enthralled in the activity. I could never fire a weapon again in my life and be entirely fine. in fact, I think I'd prefer it.

Same with ships. I don't find them to be these marvels that some people do. I think they are cool, but some people just get absolutely passionate about ships

many people on this very website devote their entire lives to following college sports. To the point they base their lives around it, get tattoos of it, spend hundreds of thousands over a lifetime following it, and discuss it with strangers on internet forums. While others couldn't even tell you if the local team was even playing that weekend.

Differnet people enjoy differnet things, what a concept..

Idk man I’m a really good shot (probably better than most here) and all it came down to for me was making sure you were dialed in and then pulling a trigger at the bottom of an exhale.

Also, again, basketball is using your body. A firearm is not an extension of your physical capabilities.

Then youre not doing it right.

Dudes go to the range to improve accuracy, sounds like you dont know why men go to the range.

Or they are ballistic nerds, accuracy fiends.

Stuff men get into. Wait until you learn about competitive sports!
