Cold and free are the best beers there are.
However craft beer has been a big deal for me past 5-6 years.
I enjoy it far more than domestics.

Beer snobs don't drink Sam Adams.
Sam Adams is trying to get the beer snobs back. But yes as of now Sam Adams is thought of as a macro brew. Even though. They started the resurgence of smaller brews in 80-90's. Everything they do is solid.
Anyone who thinks Boston Lager is bland or "beer water" is spoiled. It's a pretty complex lager. Especially when in context of everything else you had available in the 80's.
College days, if you got hold of a Shiner Bock or a Sam Adams, you were a snob. I can remember people looking at Shiner Bock in a mug and saying,"WTF is that?"
Just a SHINER BOCK. life was a struggle.

I'll drink an occasional bud light if it's what a friend has and I'm a guest at his or her house, but I really do think it tastes like crap. I won't be an arse and complain, but I'm sorry. I think it tastes like crap. It's watery tasting. Would you rather eat at McDonalds or some local place that makes a real burger with a real beef patty? It's the same thing.
Eta: I've never tried Sam Adams, but I hear it's a more palatable option if you are out somewhere that doesn't have a good beer selection. It's probably just marketing, but I'm not under the impression that it's the stuff of beer snobs. "Craft beer" is just in fashion right now.

Don't care for them, but they aren't spending my money on whatever it is they're drinking.
I enjoy a good beer as much as the next guy, and I enjoy trying beers I've never had, but I'm not a dick about it either.

I like beer that tastes good to me.
I don't really care what other people like or think about my beer selection.

I just like darker beers. Not a fan of light beer at all. Including microbrew IPAs. Most donestic beers are light. Therefore, I don't like them. If Coors starts brewing a dark lager, I'll give it a whirl.

I guess the emergence of craft beer isn't a fad after all. Looks to be sustained and only getting stronger. I'm kinda over it to be honest. Just give me an iced cold Miller draft and enjoy. I've tried all the damn IPA's and stouts you can imagine. It gets old and now seems to be obnoxiously ascending.
There is not much I agree with you on,,,.. But I feel the same way Paul Allen.

Abita isn't the stuff of beer snobs either. It's just a basic local brew that's been around forever. It's like a local pride thing.

Sam Adams is good beer
Abita is good beer
Both are relatively cheap and widely available where I buy beer (typically the gas station on my way home)

Sam Adams is one of my top 3 beers. If I am a snob, warn the God particle. Sun rises in west starting tomorrow.

I like abita. It's another good option at places that don't have good beer selections. I just don't see it as a beer snob type of beer.
I'll have to try out the wrought iron next time I drink.

If I can't have a Miller Lite, I always ask for a Sam Jackson.

I've been drinking abita since I was 15, and I was drinking whatever I could get my hands on. Stuff like Heady Topper or maybe Franzikaner or something are beer snob beers. Not the beer that you can get at every single bar and restaurant in south Louisiana.
