My brother has a 1942 D-28 Martin guitar.
He found it through a friend in the mid '70s in Ashland, KY through a friend who knew a widow lady there whose husband had bought it new and then died in WWII.
It sat in the case under a bed in her spare bedroom until he bought it from her.
He's a 1949 model, when he dies, it goes to my son.
It's beautiful.

$10K/acre out in the country in North LA? You sure about the amount of acreage of the property sold?
Primo land in north la goes for around 2.5-5k/acre - Tensas and some parts of Concordia. And that’s just land. If it has a large camp or home on it you can add roughly 500k, if it’s a hunting lodge mansion, then much more.
The 200 acres he’s talking about must have come with a lodge, tractor, deer stands, implements, the full package a hunter would need.

A metal prop from one of the new rides in the theme parks here in Orlando. The client rep rejected one of the two because one of my installers fricked up and cut off a sliver of it. I replaced it with a new one and they didn’t want to pay for the old one. fricker cost $8,000 alone, not including the crazy design made by the architect. Just waiting for the ride to get popular so the thing will be worth something.

Nice find and congrats to your son.
I've had some nice offers on my 52 from folks at jams but want to hold onto it. Very good condition, plays great and sounds like only a vintage Martin can.

A large oil painting by a not famous artist. Bette Midler an Reggie Jackson collect his art. A gallery in NOLA told me to insure it for 50K. My job....I like it and it's provides a decent amount of money!!

Those are priceless!
Servicing the great folks of TD.com brings a certain amount of joy that one cannot put a value on.
