How did he cross the Isthmus of Panama? There is no road connecting North and South America as there is a gap called the Darien Gap, a roughly 55 mile stretch where there are no roads, that separates the two continents.

Read the whole thread before trying to show how smart you are. I posted how he got across the Gap.

always heard stories about people swimming across the Mississippi. I used to swim in the river as a kid. Thought i'd try to cross it, swam out about 30 feet and said "frick that" and swam back to the bank.
Good decision.

You’d probably be “Morbid the Drowned” now.

I remember reading some dude on the OB drove to the wilderness in Colorado and did a pack out Elk hunt. That’s pretty badass.

There was an old man that took a trip every Spring from the Tennessee River to Mobile Bay in an aluminum boat.He had to go through several "Locks/Dams" to get there.

I had a buddy that went with the old man on his last trip.

I can only imagine.

Kentucky Club?

Every Juarez night starts with a couple chucho shots at the bar right before Kentucky Club followed by a few margs at Kentucky Club before Ubering to dinner. Try to swing by El Recreo (my favorite bar there - 2nd oldest in town) at some point in the night for some sotol.

Depending on the night/mood, might end up at Amadeus, a strip club. And FYI the talent there puts American strip clubs to shame. And those chicas will do anything for some $$$$, though I never take it too far because I’m a good husband

Know some people who basically walked around rural southern China for six months, from village to village. Got all kind of parasites

An acquaintance who taught VetMed in North Korea, this wasn’t a “trip” though, he lived there for a few years

All the people saying people hiking the AT, etc., that’s barely even an adventure these days. Especially the AT, tons of people, tons of partying, towns and roads everyday. Most adventurous part of the AT these days is trying to avoid Lyme disease. It’s still a cool accomplishment, especially mentally, to complete it.

I was planning on going diving with Great White Sharks in South Africa without a cage

I have a friend who did that, but with a cage. If you saw the pics he took, you would definitely want the cage.

The guides chum the water before cage dives to bring the sharks in. Sharks attack people because the sharks confuse people for food. IF you are in the water under the surface and there is no blood in the water than sharks do not think of humans as food.

I know someone that walked a large expanse of the Great Wall of China. I forgot how far he went, but it was likely the most of any person from the state of Mississippi, almost certainly. For instance, at 3 mph it would take 180 days of nonstop walking to go from start to finish.

Flew to Romania once and stayed 12 days for work. Place is a fricking shithole but there is copious amounts of alcohol and prostitutes on every corner
