I spent a year in Illinois Youth Dept. of Corrections. Well, 1 day short of a year, due to sentencing guidelines. Got into a fight, broke a kid's jaw and orbital bone.
His uncle was the mayor of the town we lived in, and his dad was a detective with the police dept. Had it been any other kid, I probably would have only spent a few days in juvenile hall.

About 4-5 hours in drunk tank after public intox on campus literally the day of my last final.
No fricks given now, but back then I was panicking like hell that the company that had given me an offer would pull it.

Around 18 months between juvie, a few weeks of house arrest, and state boot camp at 16-17. Brought it all on myself. In retrospect it was the best thing that could have happened to me. Juvie scared the hell out of me, because if juvie was this bad, I wanted nothing to do with real prison and boot camp convinced me to join the military, something I'd previously dismissed out of hand.
Got all my trouble out while I was still young enough to escape with a sealed record, and went on to have a successful military career which also put me through college. Haven't even had a traffic ticket since I turned 18 (27 years ago).

Did an 8 year sentence in the submarine fleet. Worst was 8 weeks submerged in the Persian Gulf on the USS Olympia.

The average American commits three felonies a day unwittingly. Not destroying the tax stamp on a pack of cigarettes, etc.

Same. I've had a few traffic tickets and all, but no real legal trouble since I was 16 - 30 years ago. My record as an adult is squeaky clean.

No, they fricking don't. The average person doesn't even commit 3 misdemeanors a day.

Same but hopping a ride on a passing firetruck in a moment of stupidity in the FQ will land you 24 hours in OPP.
