I was watching a video of the competitive eater, Matt Stonie, and the dude counted out 4,044 M&Ms for a challenge. It had me thinking, I'm not sure I've ever counted to 1,000 before. shite, I doubt I've ever counted to 500. Why would you?

What's the highest you've ever counted? Whether you were young and bored on a road trip or something at your job.

Link to the video if interested. Stonie is a beast but he could only finish a little over half which I'm guessing is around 8k-9k calories.

Our family used to have an industrial tool sales rental and repair business. Doing inventory took a team of 20 about 2 weeks to finish and had me counting tiny parts into the hundreds, sometimes over 1 thousand. Warehouses full of parts to repair impact drills, saws, grinders, etc.

I worked at a warehouse in college. They stored inventory for a Honda supplier and had shipped some inaccurate quantities a couple times in the couple weeks before I got hired.

The first two weeks I worked there, I had to hand count tubs of parts to verify the quantities were correct. One of the parts was some sort of washer that was about .250" in diameter. Each tote was supposed to have 1200 pieces. There were 10 totes of that part on a pallet to be shipped out usually. Sometimes more. Sometimes less.

Most parts were bigger so the highest I had to count on those was like 150 or 180. Those first two weeks were a bitch when those washers would hit the loading dock though.

I started out as a Disburser in the Marines and the most I counted out in cash was $250,000.
