Do they feel that unappreciated where they constantly have to glorify themselves and expect everyone to kiss their arse 24 hours a day?

I don't think it's them as much as every single corporate commercial right now..... but I don't see many of them hating it.

Teachers are the worst. Majority of the jobs seeking attention are majority female positions. It's built in their DNA.

Explain that to the nurses being furloughed

They don't work in an ICU.

They seem to enjoy their pay just fine not working in a high hazard office/ER environment any other time.

The blind worship we give to groups of people (even military) is so artificial and disingenuous because society tells us we have to do that or else we are bad people so those that need to fit in at all cost fall in line because that is what most have been trained to do.

All of this.

I've posted this before, but I'll reiterate it here. According the the Grocers Union, 30 grocery store employees have died of COVID-19. According to the CDC, 27 front line healthcare workers have died from COVID-19.

Why are the Blue Angels doing flyovers of fricking hospitals? We've left the fricking bagboy at Kroger out there to die for little more than minimum wage just so Karen can shelter in place with her ratty kids and wine.

Not as bad as teachers still complaining while essentially getting 6 months off this year.

By this logic then they should always get hazard pay because working with sick people is a hazard.

Anytime there is a global pandemic, sure. Odd that you left that part out.

There are plenty of nurses that called out or refused to work for a variety of reasons. You don't seem to know very much.

I'm sure they are, I was referring to the ones over dramatizing things on Social Media.

I also feel like they are rubbing it in a bit “hey I still have a job while you’re sitting at home broke.” I just don’t understand the psychology behind this

Show just one fricking healthcare working saying "I have a job and you're at home" you wont find one

Seems likes you're insecure. Or maybe you're just at home with too much time on your hands. I don't think any nurse cares about a thank you, especially from the self righteous

The amount of jealousy this pandemic has brought out in people is really revealing. We've got people jealous of medical workers getting props. People jealous of 30 million suddenly unemployed people getting bigger UE checks. We've got people jealous of "the poors" getting stimulus checks.

Grow up.

Another Holden Caulfield thread on the OT, everybody but you is just a big phony, why doesn’t the world see things as they are like you?

What you believe our response should be, doesn't make it any less of a pandemic. A pandemic is by definition a disease that's present all over the world.

Sounds like projection.

Questioning =\= Jealusy. The answer is easy though, they're women and women love attention.

I don't have an opinion on it either way. I am just relaying the reality of the situation.

Hospitals aren't paying out the arse for health care workers to deal with China flu patients because they are "heroes", especially when they are already hemorrhaging money. They are because of simply supply and demand.
