My near 500,00 in medical bills beg to differ. They held up their end with me.. most people don’t understand their policy and realize that some things you deem necessary aren’t covered and there are limits to therapists..

Same here. I’ve had an individual policy for me and my family for over 20 years. They’ve paid great on all our claims over the years. Once or twice we actually received a refund of some of our premium, which insurance companies are required to do if they collect too much premium that isn’t paid towards claims.

I don’t know but I’ve always wanted to fish there but heard they kick you off if you try

can confirm. Ive been kicked off a few times. I do see some people are allowed to fish there, though. I assume theyre friends/family of the guards.

I found a red ear turtle in my yard once and wanted to drop it off in that lake. The guards rushed in like the Secret Service and told me to get out. I said fine and dropped the turtle where I stood.

On a side note, the guards sometimes patrol a bit into Jefferson Terrace. I always want to remind them that they have no jurisdiction there and they should be focusing on keeping people away from their beloved pond

frick them! Have you fished the pond behind Pennington? It’s beautiful and loaded with bass but of course they kick you off too. So stupid you can walk around it no problem but if you want to fish it’s the end of the world.

I fished it on night and didn't catch a thing. It was very very shallow around 2014, unless something has changed.

I have a good friend that works at Blue Cross and she always said she could get me permission to fish there but I never took her up on it. Probably should have.

My NP wife is constantly coming home complaining about insurance companies, not necessarily just BC/BS.She works for a Cardiology Clinic and insurance companies are inceasingly suddenly denying payment for medications patients are taking and doing well on.They want them to be changed to cheaper medications that in many cases patients had already tried and weren’t effective.
So then she has to write letters or call insurance company and argue with them to keep patients on their meds.
It’s a huge time suck because she has to document pts. medication history, etc.
It used to be only an occasional thing but now it’s almost daily and she is sick of it.
Then there are other issues, for example she hears a murmur and wants an echo done she has to get approval from insurance company. If EKG is abnormal, suggestive of an area of ischemia she has to get approval for a stress test and often they deny it so she has to write letter justifying her concern.
She is constantly talking about retiring which would be a shame as she loves her job and pts.and is good at it but she is way tired of dealing with insurance companies.

This is only for us working people who can pay for private insurance, the other half that doesn't work gets it all free and the state/government pays it.

So no one gives a shite what they pay Obama's Legacy

“This is only for us working people who can pay for private insurance”

You’re right.I asked her about this,if this was an issue for pts. on Medicare and Medicaid. She said no,only pts.on private insurance.
I was actually kinda surprised her Dr. sees Medicaid pts. as so many don’t.

BlueCross denied me an override on my Humulin insulin. I spent an hour on the phone with them yesterday. I used a little extra insulin and they would not pay for an emergency refill. Gonna cost me $1,533 tomorrow to get one 20 ml vial. Otherwise, I will go four days without insulin.

I was told that a review board would be deciding if I got an override. Apparently I did not. Do these clowns have criterion to follow in such a decision?

Sounds like BS to me. Looks like they are trying to scam a hard working dude like myself.

there are pros and cons to private insurance and a marketplace model for medical care. This is one of the cons. For the vast majority of people this is not an issue. I’m sorry for the ones for who it is an issue I wish private healthcare would be more compassionate and individual focused.

If you have the means I wholeheartedly recommend the doctor/concierge medicine model that is becoming more common

it’s expensive but it’s so much better

I have to say that BC/BS hasn't given me issues with my daughter's issues.

Now, Delta Dental? They pissed me off. But it could be worse. It really only cost me $750. Still annoying as hell.
