My kid has a weird arse math teacher that teaches order of operations a weird way.

5+6x4/4=?

Shouldn't the correct answer be 11?

It's 11 either way, but 48 pages.

The answer doesn't matter. Either way your kid is getting fricked.

Even if you do the order of operations wrong, you get 11, what an absolute shite example to teach it.

Not sure how order of operations affects the outcome of that problem

Yeah you could do 24/4 or 6x1 and it's the same. This isn't even an effective trick math question.

Or completely frick it up and do 11x4/4

That's what I was thinking too. There's no way to get any other answer that I can see. I'm sure there are creative people on this board who will though.

What it actually teaches is that order of precedence doesn't matter.

You could even dare to do the addition first, and still get 11.
