What’s the coldest weather you’ve been in?

All this crazy stuff in the mid-west had me thinking about what’s the coldest weather I’ve ever been in.
I had to look up the weather history for Watertown, NY to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. But the coldest I’ve been in was somewhere in the -35 to -40 range ambient. I’m pretty sure the wind chill was pushing-60 to -65.
I hated NY. Too damn cold and way too much snow.

Was in Chicago one time when temperature was -1, windchill was something like -45.

-52 ambient. Couldn't tell you what the windchills were. Remote mountaintop 9000 feet up in the middle of nowhere Turkey.
It didn't get above freezing for three months.

That sounds like Fort Drum, NY. Once it froze in December it didn’t thaw out til damn near mid March.

Near -50 on Denali. It was probably the most miserable I have ever been.

-16, wind chill between -35 and-40. Back when I lived near Cleveland. When it burns your lungs to breathe, it's really cold.

Downtown Chicago.
Right now.
It's about -20, but it's starting to warm up a little. We may get up to -8 today. Wind chill is between -30 and -50 - either way it doesn't make a difference. It's absolutely miserable.

Coldest actual temperature I’ve been in was around -10. Coldest windchill was around -30 degrees.

Was stationed north of Chicago in 93-94 and with the end chill one night it was -50...... literally had days where it didn't get above 0. Most miserable 6 months of my life. Why people choose to live in that crap is beyond my realm of thought

I’ll never understand it either. Having to put on 3-4 layers of clothes to take out the trash or taking an hour plus to change a flat cause your fingers are frozen is a crappy way to live.
I’ll deal with the 100+ temps any day compared to extreme cold.

In my case it damn sure wasn't by choice.

Whatever the temp is in the deep freezer at the Borden plant in BR. -20 if I remember right. I usually only went in for a minute or less, so I wouldn’t wear a coat. Couldn’t find what I was looking for one day and was in it for 3-4 minutes. I came out and immediately felt lethargic to the point that I had to sit down for 20-30 minutes and not right for a couple more hours. Luckily, I was 18 at the time and bulletproof. If I tried that now in a t-shirt, they’d find me cold, stiff and dead.

Hunted geese and pheasant in North Dakota about 9 years ago for 4 days and the high was 11F one day. Low was around 4F. Was windy and pretty cold. Pheasant hunting wasn't bad since we were walking. Bigger problem was a couple of guys wore too much stuff and got hot and sweated, then got chilled so bad they had to go to the truck.
Luckily goose hunting up there doesn't even start until after 12 noon and we were also in layout blinds which knocked the wind down.
It was pretty cold but nothing like what is going on up North right now.
