Not the wealthiest person I know but in the Top 5.
Nine digits net worth fellow.
He’s dead now, to boot-
Fifteen years ago, I was in the FEMA line for MREs, ice, and water and he was waiting his turn too.

Multi-millionaire business owner complaining they are paying too much for employee toilet paper.

saw an extremely wealthy individual and pillar of the community walk right past the cub scouts selling chocolate after church...

I’ve had to do this for every meal my FIL has ever paid for

My dad is generous person in just about all aspects of life but he's a shitty tipper. Whenever I go out to eat with him I make sure to take a little cash to drop on the table when we are leaving

I used to work with a very, very wealthy attorney based in the River Parishes.
This cat would clean out every hotel room he occupied of pens, note pads, shampoos, soap, etc., and then ask other attendees at the same event if they would collect theirs for him if they didn't want them.
I heard (did not observe) that he ran a guy off the road and berated him for putting his trash in one of Richie Rich's dumpsters (after Richie Rich did some dumpster diving detective work to figure out who it was trying to frick him).
This is the same individual who spent ~$1 million of his own money for his wife's judicial campaign and then balked at spending the last $10k to $20k to secure an endorsement (she lost a very close race).

I eat lunch with a group of guys on a regular basis at a casual joint where your meal is easily under 10 bucks. One of our group is worth 20-30 million, and will often bring his own sandwich in a sack rather than pay 8-10 bucks.

I will never understand this. There is a difference between being wasteful and being ridiculously frugal. Why have any money if you refuse to enjoy it? You can't spend it when you're dead.

My FIL is a wealthy individual, but he's so cheap it makes my blood boil. Where should I begin...
1) He wrote a letter to Progresso because there weren't enough clams in his clam chowder
2) He took back 2 fountain cokes to mcdonald's because they were flat. BTW, he did this the next morning NOT the night he got them. Said he got a free breakfast out of it.
3) He took back some mussels to the store after he had boiled them because they were not to his satisfaction.
The list is endless. He likes to try to get shite for free, which I cannot stand. Thankfully, he does not do this when I'm around anymore.

I lol'd picturing some older guy furiously writing a scathing letter in a dimly lit room.
"Dear Progresso,"...

Had a client that owns an oil company in shreveport, a $1M RV, house in aspen, donates enough money to LSU every yr to ensure his TAF number is always #1. He wears nikes and dockers to every meeting. His wife is always dripping with at least $50G in ice. He was building a house in NOLA to use as a party pad for himself & guests for about $6.5M. His son ran up about an extra million in owner-directed change orders over the project and refused to pay them. Also threatened to sue the GC when they started talking liens. It was nasty, and our firm had already lawyered bc we were getting dragged thru it. He eventually caved when we had all the emails showing what his son did over 18 months and when he realized the GC company had no reason to back down.

brush off paper plates and reuse...also wash ziplocks for reuse.
Guilty. I buy those dixie ultra plates so unless they're super nasty and only had chips or something dry on them I'll use them again.
I will reuse those ziplock bags again if they had something dry in them like cookies or crackers. They're good for holding things like interconnects, adaptors, power cords, etc

But at the very end when we get near the airport, he will stop to fill up the rental van and has one of us watch the gas needle so he can stop pumping right before it is completely full.
It’s just careless not to do that
