Bull shite. How has the pill caused genocide and infanticide, both of which have defined meanings?

Simple, woman took the pill and in a effort to please a boyfriend had sexual intercourse. Maybe she forgets to take the pill regularly and gets pregnant. That's okay, after all they're in love. Suddenly the boyfriend, who had no intention of marrying the girl in the first place, since he was only "sowing his wild oats" is gone. Poor girl is in college, pregnant, and scared as hell to tell her parents. So she finds an abortionist and a beating heart is killed. I call that genocide since it results in the killing of a living, functioning human being. Now a whole new industry develops around helping young woman get rid of their problem. Wait? You say I'm only hypothesizing? Actually, I saw this scenario, played out time and again. Suffice to say, word gets around in a small town.

Dude, do you see the connection? Can you connect the dots? I will make a bold statement, based on my own observation. I was there and I saw rampant prosmiscuity and sexual license explode with the introduction of the birth control pill.

Sex was meant for procreation, within the confines of a covenant committed relationship. Believe we call that institution marriage.

Problem is all the progressive liberal social engineers,[from the global warming wackos to the lesbian and gay alliance, to the MALE HATING feminist] are doing their darndest trying to destroy the traditional family. Have to admit they have done a pretty good job.

Have a great day!

As far as understanding the screwed up social norms of today, I must agree. By the way what does "hooking up" mean? I come from an age where women [generally] were virtuous and men were gentleman....always. All of this courting business was meant to match up couples leading to a socially accepted institution [now in steep decline] called marriage and family. Marriage was noble and children were welcomed [the more the better] as assets to the community. Marriage was viewed as good for the spouses, and good for society, including the economy.

We had good examples. My parents were married a long long long time. Wasn't rare to see couples married for years and years. It was the norm. I have been married to my wife [the only woman in my life] for a long long time. Still love her today as much [prolly more] as when she was my bride on our wedding day. No disposable marriage for me.

Dude, believe me I am "up to speed", and I know what "MY LADY" likes.

Have a great day!

I am divorced and my child is extremely well adjusted. She makes straight As, has lots of friends, competes in competitive athletics and is a very happy kid. Her mom and I get along and we raise her as best we can.

But, I'm sure you holier than thou types have it all figured out. Good for you.

Racism is way down on the list.

I'm surprised by how many people listed drugs. I think the war on drugs has been much, much more damaging.

No, I don't mean racism as being damaging to society. I mean racism in this thread with people saying black people are ruining society.

Back in the day, children were welcomed because they were needed to work the farms and factories and help put food on the table. And a lot of them died in infancy, so you needed to pop out plenty of spares to make sure you hade enough. The first thing that happens in countries where the standard of living is improving is that the birth rate goes down. It happened in the US and Europe, it's happening in Mexico, China, and India right now. It's not a moral thing, it's human nature. Raising big families is a hardship, and people won't do it if it's not an economic necessity.

As for divorce, people stayed together because there weren't any alternatives. You had a lot of people married for 40, 50 years who were miserable. Even now, in cultures where divorce is still frowned on, it's common and acceptable for the men to have sidepieces.

My GF was married to a POS, She went the extra mile to try to keep it together, but eventually she had enough and kicked him to the curb. Best decision she ever made, and her kid is doing fine.

And there's your answer. If we could criminalize sex outside of marriage, all problems would be solved.

Let's bring some divorce/single-parent stats to the table.

quote:

Children from broken families are nearly five times more likely to suffer damaging mental troubles than those whose parents stay together, Government research has found.

63 percent of suicides nationwide are individuals from single-parent families.

• 75 percent of children in chemical dependency hospitals are from single-parent families.

• More than half of all youths incarcerated in the U.S. lived in one-parent families as a child.

Rationalize it how you want, nothing else has this big of an impact.

Well, almost no one else does. Mostly because its not.

I agree that irresponsibility is encouraged. It's true. But the pill isn't causing genocide. That's retarded.

Ok. I agree that women have more sexual freedom now. Still looking for how some hormone pills are causing the systematic extermination of a particular race, ethnicity, or other social group.

Well, that sounds like your religion. This is America and people are free to structure their individual lives as they wish, more or less, without being told what it should look like, provided that all involved are consenting adults and no one else is harmed. I in no way support taxation to provide for the subsistence of other people's family arrangements.

No one hates families. Almost everyone except outlying fringe elements agree that families are good. But no one is trying to destroy families. Has the sexual revolution had some negative consequences for society? Certainly. But it has also had some positive ones.

If you want a flag to rally under, hate the government for allowing the entitlement culture that encourages a lack of responsibility and poorly planned families. There is no cabal of liberals scheming to find ways to prevent babies from having mommies and daddies. They are just busy bodies who place more value of freedom than tradition, which is understandable in some cases.

Birth Control Pill. Reduced the sacred procreative act to that of an animalistic exploitive act. Gave rise to genocide and infanticide. Ever hear of Kermit Gosnell?

You do realize many married or otherwise committed couples with children use birth control right? I would love to have more than two children but we cant afford it. Does that make the act of sex an animalistic exploitive act if you dont plan to have kids as a result of the act?
