My group is trying to figure out our plans this year. Give me some good ideas for a group early 30's to early 40's with a mix of single and married. Only things I've heard of are L'auberge and Downtown Baton Rouge.

The Revolution (Prince's band) is playing the Paragon in Marksville that night. Tickets are fairly reasonable at $30 and there's not a bad seat in the theater.

I do this every year and it's loaded with talent. I always get the VIP so it's free food and drinks all night.

There is about a 95% chance I'll be asleep by 10pm.

Yep. Dumbest holiday on the calendar. Enjoying NYD off from work well rested and NOT hungover. Duck hunting and LSU bowl game.

If I were not a single man I would feel this same way. I just have a hard time settling for ending the year and bringing in a new year at my house by myself

This will be the 8th year that we have a house party. We usually have about 20-25 people over for drinks, food, and fireworks. My wife and I always go all out for New Years.

We're having our family Christmas on New Year's Eve.

May be a bit old fashioned, but our family likes to get together still as an extended family for holidays and such.

I'm staying home, watching a movie and going to bed. May or may not make midnight.
